Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
The short version: Fuse has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. We do not run servers that collect your personal information, and we never sell your data. Your library lives on your devices and, if you choose, in your own iCloud.
1. Who this applies to
This policy describes how the Fuse media player app for macOS and Apple TV (“Fuse”, “the app”, “we”) handles information. By using Fuse you agree to this policy.
2. Information the app handles
Fuse is designed to keep your information on your own devices. Specifically:
- Your media & library. The files you play, the folders and servers you add, posters, watch progress, and playback preferences are stored locally on your device. Nothing about your library is sent to us.
- iCloud sync (optional). If you enable sync, your library index and settings are stored in your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. We have no access to that data. You can disable sync at any time in Settings.
- Source credentials. Usernames, passwords, and tokens for media servers (SMB, FTP, NFS, WebDAV, Plex, Jellyfin, cloud drives) are stored securely in the system Keychain on your device and are used only to connect to the servers you configure.
- Purchases. Fuse Pro purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We receive only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase or subscription is active.
3. Third-party services
To fetch artwork and enrich your library, Fuse may contact the following services. When it does, standard network information (such as your IP address and the request itself) is visible to that service under its own privacy policy — not ours.
- The Movie Database (TMDB). When you add media or search, Fuse sends the title text to TMDB to retrieve posters, backdrops, cast, and episode data. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. See the TMDB privacy policy.
- OpenSubtitles (optional). If you search for subtitles, your query and the file’s hash are sent to OpenSubtitles to find matches.
- Media servers & sources you add. Fuse connects directly to the servers and cloud accounts you configure. Those connections are between your device and that server.
- Apple iCloud & StoreKit. Used for optional sync and for purchases, governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
On networks that block metadata lookups, Fuse may resolve the metadata host using an encrypted DNS-over-HTTPS query (via Cloudflare) solely to reach TMDB. No personal data is included in that request.
4. What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no ad SDKs, no third-party analytics.
- No accounts or sign-up, and no email required to use the app.
- No behavioral tracking across apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information — because we don’t collect it.
5. Data retention & deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. In Settings → Storage & Data you can clear the image cache, clear your library index, or delete all local Fuse data. Deleting the app removes its local data. iCloud data can be removed from your Apple ID settings. Your original media files are never modified or deleted by these actions.
6. Children
Fuse is rated 17+ and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Security
Credentials are stored in the system Keychain and network connections use TLS where the destination supports it. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but Fuse is built to minimize the data at risk by keeping it on your device.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
